Tesco are very much the new boys in the mobile phone market.  Thanks to clever marketing and some excellent deals, they are quickly catching up with the big guys. They have teamed up with O2 to use their network, which means 99% of the UK can use a Tesco mobile. The added bonus of triple Clubcard points on every top up has also enticed a lot of pay as you go customers to change to Tesco.

The main selling point of a Tesco free SIM is that every time you top up you get triple. So top up £10 you get £30 of credit, which is one of the reasons why Tesco have just been voted No1 pay as you go provider in the UK. Simply order a free SIM online, pop it into your phone, register for the free credit and top up, simple. If you intend using your extra credit to make calls, you can buy a 5000 text bundle for only £5. This equates to 0.1p per text message. Even if you don’t use the whole 5000 text allowance, it still works out a lot cheaper that the standard rate of 10p per text.

As with all the networks, topping up has never been easier or more convenient. Register a debit or credit card and top up over the phone or buy a voucher from one of thousands of outlets. You can also top up next time you go to a cash machine. Remember that if you top up in a Tesco store you will also get triple Clubcard points, so it makes sense to top up next time you go for your groceries. It certainly looks as if Tesco mobile are going to give the other networks a real run for their money in the lucrative pay as you go market.
